PPG color shift lately? Anyone else?

I recently prepared a few images to upload to PPG.

The images were processed through CS2 and CS3 which I have always used. I havn't changed my color place as far as I am aware (unless a recent addition of a Canon 9500 printer changed settings when the software was loaded... which I doubt).

When uploading them to PPG and viewing them they have developed a cyan shift with additional nuetral density and seem to lose sharpness as well. This of course knocks out the RED and causes the image to look relatively flat and lifeless.

I was wondering if anyone else has noticed/experienced this or am I missing something?

Thanks,
Stephen

You didn't by chance accidentally export the JPGs using your printer ICC profile instead of sRGB did you?

Jim,

I don't think anything has changed in the way I upload. But, to be honest, I am clueless of how to check on your question. Any guidance on checking that out would be appreciated.

BTW, older pictures, that I never uploaded before and have not recently reworked, seem to keep their color balances properly. It seems to be the more recent photoshop work of older images that show this phenomenon... but then again... I could be wrong. I'll have to check that out more closely.

Are you using Firefox? If so, visit this page:

Is your system ICC Version 4 ready?

I don't have CS, just Lightroom. But in the export dialog in LR (and other editors) there is typically a means to select "Color Space" or "Color Profile". If you export your JPEGs using something other than sRGB you'll likely get odd results.

Thanks Gerry, but I don't use Firefox. Nonetheless, I'm still working on the issue.

CS does have the color space menu at the bottom of the RAW setting. I had never seen it before, as I never had a problem, but will run some tests to see if that is the shortcoming of my PPG postings of late.

I checked my K10D, it was AdobeRGB, and I thought that the K20D was the same, but it was sRGB.

Independant CS books say to use AdobeRGB because it has a more usable color profile. The Canon 9500 uses the AdobeRGB profile in color management (or so it appeared this evening).

I'll keep digging for consistancy and repeatability.
