Can anybody upload Pentax Remote Assistant install file?
Or if you know a link to one already uploaded, that'd be great. The ones seen on official pentax site seem to be update-only, and they require disk when executed. I need the original install file, running Windows.
I'll have to find the link but as to a disc ALL you have to do is burn a cd (blank) w/ Pentax as the title (I'll have to find the exact title)....... funny isn't it?
Hm, that's interesting! I'll try and make an image, see if it works...
S-SW10 That's the disc title. I believe that's all you need. Don't need an iso ect...
Just burn a blank disc w/ that title... I believe someone at dp review came up w/ this hack..

You'll need a blank CD and CD writing program.
You need to create a CD and label it S-SW55. The disk can have anything you want on it. PPL 3.51 will ask for the disk and once your S-SW55 disk is inserted, it will continue on with the install.
Thank you

Another way to install......... My friend, you're going to love me for this.
Download PPB and Remote assistant from pentax.
click start>run
drag and drop the photo broswer install file into the run box. put a space and a /s after the text.
like this
Yesss!! It worked - I didn't see your edit just until now, though. I made an iso image with both remote assistant and photo lab/browser installers using Nero Express, then mounted that image in Daemon tools. I had to first install photo lab/browser to be able to install remote assistant.

Do the same for remote assistant if you need it.
Look on your desktop

@ jeffkrol - You are THE MAN!!! I just wasted time on Live Chat with Pentax and told them that it's ridiculous that they charge for a replacement disc and it's those type of choices that may make Pentax a deal breaker for many people.
Thanks a lot for your wise advise...it worked like a charm.
