Pentax software problem.

I bought my K10D back in December 2006 but although the photo browser worked the Photo Laboratory never has.
I am not very computer literate.
Anyway as I had various other imaging software I just deleted it from the Control Panel.
Thought I might have another attempt and so bought a new CD.
Used search to try to locate anything which could cause problems.
However when I tried to open programmes for Browser & Laboratory got the message Already installed.
I new it was possible that new disc would not produce results so was and am ready to cut my losses and put it down to experience but it would be interesting to see how they work.
Any advice appreciated.
Cheers: Ian Mc

I'm assuming Widows.. Download and install Revo Uninstaller. Uninstall all Pentax apps. Use the advanced mode and if it asks to delete anything, say yes. If it asks to reboot, say no, and continue each uninstall. Then reboot. Also download and install avast!, SpyBot, CCleaner and PC Tools Spyware Doctor. Then try to install the Pentax software. If all else fails, find a teenager. Good luck!
Now you know why some of us use Linux... This process will take you a couple of days.

Pentax software problem

Thanks Mr. The Guy
Looks like a handy programme Revo Uninstaller.
Unfortunately it does not show Pentax.
C'est la vie !!

Hi Ian Mc
This is the time to accept that you get what you pay for. Never so true than in re bundled software.
I don't know where you are located but in the USA Lightroon 2 costs about $200. I have been using Creative suites in all of the versions since CS. I found Bridge very useful but the price of Photoshop ever without hte rest of the creative suite deters many.
Lightroom will change your life or at least your photography.
is it kept up to date? Well the update for the K7D has been out for about a week and the camera is not yoe on the shelves of the photo shops!

What did you "buy"? Pentax software was never available except w/ a camera purchase... Also what CPU are you using? What operating system?
Also if your very daring, go to regedit and remove Pentax from the hot key current user:software: pentax and hot key local machine;software;Pentax. Then reboot and reinstall... Back up registry first.. be very careful. and do it at your own risk....

Thanks Photog & jeffkrol.
I prefer not to dabble with registry except to have regular scans with Wises Registry Cleaner
only deleting entries "Safe to Delete"
I have Photoshop Elements and Noise Ninja stand alone, along with Coded Color Photo Studio, Imagenomic Noiseware, Picasa 3, and Faststone so don't really need anything else !!!
I bought the new disc from the New Zealand Pentax distributor.
