Software for portraits

Has anyone used portrait professional 9? I was wondering if it is any good or would it be worth it to buy Aperture and the Portraiture plugin? I'm most interested in portrait editing at the moment. Engagement photos, Senior pictures, Weddings and the like.

Speaking of plugins for aperture...is there any other portrait plugins for aperture that are cheaper than Portraiture?

I'm using that filter quite a bit actually. It can be a bit heavy handed, so you want to use it on a layer so that you can decrease the opacity.
Pretty much everything I'm doing with models these days is run through either Portrait Professional or Kodak Digital Gem (another big button heavy handed piece of software that is good if used judiciously).
If you are a Photoshop user, both of these programs are available as plugins, and can be used as part of a batch processing routine.
