Need help with crooked JPGs, please!

Lately a lot of my older pix are "split" somewhere along the horizontal plane like in this picture here. I think my HDD is going south, could that be the reason? I shoot RAW, convert to JPG with Bibble Lite, and view in ACDSee. No other image editing software involved.

Anybody know of a program that can fix image corruptions of this sort?

Thanks very much in advance!

Sorry I don't know any programs that would fix that automatically. You can fix it in photoshop but it will take some time especially if you have lots of image.

It could be your RAM that is at fault not your hard drive.

Are the split at the same spot with every picture?

If you open up the picture, close it, and open up the same picture again, does the split happen at the same spot?

How old are those pictures?
Do any of the new pictures have problem?

looks like the file is corrupted. I'd suggest you backup your harddrive first, then run some disk tools to scan the drive and file system.
