How to take meteroid shower and star trails?

I attempted last night with Pentax DA 10-17mm f/3.5-4.5 fisheye with 30 second exposure in iso 400 in 10mm f/4.0. I don't have photoshop or lightroom, any free tools that let you stack up images to merge them together would help me, please comment your non-photoshop approach.

Now I need to find the free tool that lets you stack them together in a series to show the star trail. Any suggestions are welcome. This is my 1st attempt

#1
trail from plane flying over the 30 second exposure

#2
I pp to be dark to see the stars

#3
bluer closer to morning

#4
shot of the moon on the other side

Thanks,
Hin

Thank you for the suggestions, I am trying to use both the paint.net to merge from layers but so much it is a long process. And separately, I also tried another shareware named image stacker. I will report back.

Thanks,
Hin
