Samsung 245T 24" LCD alternative?

Hi Folks,

I use a Samsung 245T for my photo editing and mapping / graphic design work. I know it's a small thing, but the audible buzzing put out by the transformer in the monitor is starting to drive me bonkers.

Is there a similar wide-gamut display that anyone can recommend in the price range of the 245T (about $600 CAD)? Can you point me to some reviews or comparisons?

Also, what do you recommend for a relatively inexpensive colour calibration tool?

Thanks!
D

I bought an HP LP2475W. Decent screen, wide gamut, doesn't buzz.

If you're in Canada, try the usual suspects such as Tiger Direct, NCIX, or DirectDial to find a decent price. You will not find the display in stores, as most stores stock 90% crap and 10% of if-you-have-to-ask-you-can't-afford-it.
