measuring dynamic range

ultimatly the photo is what matters, but crunching the numbers is fun too..

DxO and Dpreview measures dynamic range differently, with radically different results with their own spins on the matter.

Who is better to trust, which results are more representative of the real world and more importantly the end result?

DxO has a product to sell.

DxO uses their own products. I believe that DPReview shoots a gradated card. The results will differ but are internally consistent and both serve as a reliable basis for comparison between cameras.
