K10D Lightroom Presets (20080905 Part 1)
Attached are the latest iterations of the K10D Lightroom Presets System that I have been working on.
Readme file for #Rob's K10D Presets
This package contains 6 sets of presets that should be applied in numerical
order for best results. The presets in 01 will make multiple adjustments to
your photo. The presets in 02-06 will adjust one additonal aspect of the picture.
In the Adobe Lightroom Develop module you will want to create 6 New Preset Folders.
(Choose Develop, then New Preset Folder to start the creation process.)
Name them:
#Rob's K10D Presets 01
#Rob's K10D Presets 02
#Rob's K10D Presets 03
#Rob's K10D Presets 04
#Rob's K10D Presets 05
#Rob's K10D Presets 06
Once you have created the above directories, import the corresponding presets
into each one from within the Develop module.
(Under the Preset List (Left Column) put your cursor on the Preset Folder name
that you plan to import into, right click the mouse and click on import).
1. #Rob's K10D Presets 01 contains the baseline adjustments for RAW files
created by K10D cameras and uses the As Shot White Balance. I have
included a preset for those who have downloaded the latest Adobe Camera
Profiles in addition to the 4.4.
2. #Rob's K10D Presets 02 contains canned White Balance (WB) adjustments
if the As Shot WB is not to your liking.
3. #Rob's K10D Presets 03 contains canned White Balance (WB) adjustments
based on the Kelvin Scale. Those adjustments with K numbers less than
As Shot (or new WB selected in step 2) will act like a blue filter
(cooling) on your pictures. Those adjustments with K numbers greater
than As Shot (or new WB selected in step 2) will act like a gold
filter (warming). The effects of these cooling and warming digital
filters increase as you move away from the As Shot WB.
4. #Rob's K10D Presets 04 contains canned exposure adjustments running
from -2 to +2.
5. #Rob's K10D Presets 05 contains canned Luminance Noise Reduction settings.
Unlike the adjustments above, you will not be able to discern Presets 05
unless you magnify a portion of the picture.
6. #Rob's K10D Presets 06 contains a series of sharpening adjustments from
mild to heavy. This step should be the last thing you do. Unlike the
adjustments above, you will not be able to discern Presets 06 unless you
magnify a portion of the picture.
7. I usually process one picture from a group taken under similar conditions
Once I get it the way I want, I create a new preset to apply to the rest
of the pictures.
Enjoy
Rob
