Picasa 3 handles K20D RAW

I just downloaded Picasa3 Beta and noticed that it handles the RAW (PEF) files from the K20D unlike the previous version.

Is there any advantage to shooting RAW as PEFs? I shoot RAW as DNGs, and these are recognized by virtually ALL the processing software I use, on both the Mac and the PC.

Serious question, not trying to make a point...

does anyone else have a problem with Picasa (2 or 3) showing a lack of colour with PEF files? If I shoot JPEG + RAW the jpeg shows in Picasa with better (more accurate) colour, heaps different. Yet view that PEF file in Pentax photo browser and it looks like the jpeg colours
