A few insect photos

Here's a few bug shots. Got to get them before they're gone! (At least north of the equator).
All shots are with my K100D and the Promaster (Tamron) 70-300mm LD. This lens keeps surprising me.

Nice indeed, the bokeh is suprisingly smooth for such a zoom. The first shot is a difficult situation, a white flower and a black ...butterfly? on top, quite the contrast but both have detail, good job with that. In nr 2 I would have moved the camera a bit down and a bit to the left. U know if u take it a bit further away then u have can just crop it a bit and get it right, give yourself some leeway

Beautiful shots! We've had several nights of frost up here so the insect shots will soon be done for the year.

Thanks for the feedback. Both the bee and the butterfly were moving from flower to flower quite quickly. I was happy just to get a few in focus! The background on the butterfly is half light and half dark; I wish it was one or the other. I can't remember how much (if any) I cropped out of the bee shot. I'll look again when I get home. The praying mantis was the only one that posed perfectly still for his picture.

Does anyone know why the mantis picture looks pixelated on the right side? It looks fine in the photo gallery.

All angle well chosen and great shots.

Just a little halo effect from oversharpening. Otherwise nice macros

Thanks for the feedback. Can you give me a some help with the sharpening and point out where you see the halos? I try not to over sharpen but sometimes I can't help myself!

Thanks.
