Finally, I got one accepted!

My track record is not so great but I did get one image to be accepted in to the PPG. LINK

Now I have to get my butt in gear and submit a few more.

Here is one of mine that was accepted. My major grouse with the gallery is that we get to vote on the most recent submissions first, As a result voters can give in before they have looked at all of them. Pentax then come along and vet those that have received the required number of votes. The result is that I have 3 waiting for a decision yet Pentax has done 3 vettings since they were submitted. Wouldn't it be fairer and quite simple to reverse the process and get us to vote on the those which have been submitted longest?

Probably the order is least votes first. This DOES result in the newest shown first but as soon as they get some votes you'll be shown some older. In this way all images in the pool have about the same number of votes, which make it easier for the system to select good or bad images at any time.

When you were presented the oldest first than a good image would not receive any votes for long time...

It makes sense and this approach is good when the number of voters is low compared to the number of images submitted.

Stupid Question...

Is that SO hard to get a photo in the gallery? I tried several times with IMO good photos and... none accepted

For some reason the voters are very picky. I've had many rejected and only 1 accepted. To be honest when I sit down and vote I find myself being critical.

Afther quite some time, I'm up to five now.
My first B&W:

hey bart,
maybe not typical shot with FA77ltd but it's beautiful,
well deserved admission.... and I really like the B&W conversion. Lately most of my shots end as B&W. But I have one problem, when using CS3s black and white conversion tool, many shots come out somewhat muddled, kind of like painting, any idea how to avoid it?

Great stuff!
I was glad to finally get a bird shot in after quite a few quick rejections.

Axl,

Thanks for the compliment.
I did the B&W conversion with Lightroom: I start with [Grayscale] and go from there. No experience with CS3 (or even CS2), sorry.
