Ice Falls

Here is a shot of a small frozen waterfall. What do you think?

as a tangent, one thing I did notice having been given access and am going through all the submissions and voting is... there's a whole lot of over sharpened images! There's a lot of images I'd otherwise vote for, but the image is so obviously over sharpened. Don't people see the the halo'ing they're causing in the images?

I have filled out the contact info and requested an invite to submit photos to the Pentax Gallery at least 3 times over the last 6 weeks and still haven't gotten a reply. I probably wouldn't get anything accepted anyway but it would be nice to try. Perhaps they are not taking any new photographers? Or perhaps they already know something about my photography.

I'm very happy ... and proud ... and relieved () to say I'm officially 1-for-1 in my submissions. My 1st image that I submitted got accepted.

PENTAX Photo Gallery

Now I'm a little hesitant about trying others ... I don't know if my 'fragile ego' can accept the rejection that the odds of submitting images demands! (I kid of course... )

Wow - I got 2 accepted

I'm quite proud of this.
I just hope everybody else doen't start deleting their photos as a form of protest

a bit of an a-typical photo with the Voigtländer 125:

and a more classic scene with the FA31:

If you like, you are of course welcome to take a look ar some more examples of mine at
Zenfolio | Bart Dejonghe

Of course, other than the two above, none of these are exepted in the PPG.

I don't think most will be deleting the profiles but the interest in trying to get images accepted will diminish over time with many. When you enter 30+ and get all rejects (as my last 30 or so), I just lost interest. I'll leave my 2 images up and not worry about the PPG

I've been working too much lately to do a lot of photography, though I got a few hours this week which was fun. (i'll post some of them in the "post your photos" section.)

Here's my pentax gallery shots.
Like Peter I've been having a string of rejections. Oh well - I learned a long time ago that what you think are our best shots are often entirely different than what others will pick. I was lucky enough to get one selected in the "premier" gallery, but again, on another day, another phase of the moon, it might not have been accepted at all, that's just how it is with photos. Either you get an emotional response out of them or you don't, and that part is all up to the viewer.

great stuff dan. i've seen most of these from browsing the gallery. i cant see how stuff of this quality (i'm inclucing others in this forum as well) could be declined...

is there a mentality in the "voting public" that by declining as many as possible, the things they have in the gallery become more exclusive and special?

You don't have to win to get in.

This image was just accepted. It won 2nd place in the DPR PentaxChallenge for December and won 2nd place in a weekly challenge at DPChallenge.com.

moi

Well, I guess I'm the newest PPG member. Funny enough, one of the images I least suspected would interest them did. Unfortunately, I'm only about one for twenty though, haha. Anyways, I still feel it's a nice honour. I'll keep submitting as time permits, I suppose.
