The Forgotten Bridge

Do you like either, one more than the other?

I really like that first shot. Nice patterns and who would've thought that plain ol' concrete could have such interesting colours! It's a good composition, a little different and interesting. I don't know that the IR adds anything to a fine photo.

No offense, but the IR attempt here was pointless. With a simple edit in photoshop, you can acheive the same effect (or better), minus the expense of a $100 filter. Typically a CPL will be needed, however.

Example:

Your original image, and a 30 second photoshop edit.

Thanks for you comments. I was kinda in between.

Definitely no offense taken. I appreciate and thank you for your opinion. I like using the camera as my creative tool, 1. I don't like to PP (I am not that good at it) and don't like to spend a lot time doing it, 2. I like to challenge myself so I typically end up "doing it the hard way."

I also have a R72 IR filter and have used it quite a lot. I find it a fun filter to play with, with IR, you never really know what your pictures will look like until you get back home and do some post processing. If you're interested, I have a little description of my IR post processing here > Frank's Intro to Digital Infrared Photography

Funny, after hearing that the K100d was IR sensitive and before joining pentaxforums I searched the internet for IR websites. Found a couple very helpful ones, including yours. It was one of the reasons I decided to buy an IR filter. I appreciate your help and the information.

Great job on the website.
