Geishas In Tokyo
Posted by Tyama, 04-22-2008, 01:49 AM Tyama is offline

I was on a trip recently to Japan and one of the stops was to look at the cherry blossoms alongside a river in Tokyo. The women at this otdoor cafe were dressed up as geishas and serving tea and food.

K20D, 1st pic with DA16-50 and last four with DA50-200.

Nice series. Sometimes they do get very shy in front of camera. Obviously you had a good chance to approach them without problems

Very nice. Based on the 向島墨提 portion of the banner it would appear you were in the northwestern part of Tokyo and along the Sumida River.

Thanks for the comments.

It was very busy there with people viewing the cherry blossoms and photographers snapping away especially at the outdoor cafe, the geishas were busy and hard to capture except when they were waiting for refills.

I there for two weeks and and misplaced my trip itinerary, the names of the places start to run together after awhile.

I really like the third photo, quite beautiful. Ireland would come first but oh how I wish I could visit Japan.
