Newport, Oregon, Fireworks

Here are a few of my pictures from last night's fireworks here in Newport (Oregon, USA). My first time trying for fireworks pictures. C&C welcome/appreciated.

Nice job! it looks like Newport may have bought larger shells then blaine. the burst size appear to be huge. To bad the tree was there in the foreground. All I can is one more word, AX!

I like your series, were there multiple bursts at once or did you do a multiple exposure?

I did long exposures. Essentially I did what I saw recommended/related here and at other sites: F8-F11, Bulb mode w/ wired remote/ ISO 200, and just experimented with capture times from 3-4 seconds, all the way up to 22 seconds or so.

The trees were in the way, but it was the best vantage point I had available, really.

And, yes, Newport does do fireworks in a big way on the 4th.

Thanks for the comments,
Derek
