Fisheye fullmoon

Ok, the moon's full tonight, and I shot these last night, but it was close to full... Please excuse the look of oversharpening that Lr has imparted to some of the contrasty edges. I've found that Lightroom can't handle exporting contrasty lines in black and whites and renders these oversharpened segments. But you'll get the idea without me using PS to export 'em again.

All shot last night with the K200D and the 10-17mm Fish Eye.

Cumins Lake.

Self portrait (man it's hard to hold still for 25 seconds).

Nice shots Josh, I like the last one. If it were mine I would crop it to the top of the tripod legs.

Wow, you must be a demon at playing Statues. I'd never have guessed.

Thanks Gary. I see what you mean about the crop, but I really like the "WTF" effect that I get from looking straight down at my feet and up past the horizon in one shot (I'm still enamored with the weird wide FOV I can get with this lens). I also like how the tripod shadow almost has a 3d effect (in my skewed imagination at least).

Or you could try cropping up from the bottom to the edge of the centre column, that might look cool.
As far as the effect goes, yeah, I love putting that lens on and pointing it at mundane things to see what it can do with them.

OH that self portrait rocks...

I have never really been a fisheye guy...But that is one of the best uses of the lens I have seen. I really like this. I also can not believe the FOV.... it seems to start at your toes and go on forever.... I cant stop looking at it!

I am impressed....

Nicely done with #2 and 3.
The obvious FE effect adds to the creativity of the captures.
Man, star trails would look really interesting with this lens!

Thanks, I think #2 would have been more successful if I'd used a faster shutter speed than 30 sec, as the clouds definitely exhibit motion blur. Steal away.

Woah... I don't know about "EVER", but they're probably my best FE shots to date . If you'd like to see a particular shot full size, PM me and I can email one to you I suppose - I don't think I'll post a full size shot.

Absolutely. Star trails would look very cool, and it's something I've long wanted to do. Hmmmm.... (gotta charge my batteries).
