A few from the ferry and pier 39.

Hi All, I'm back from Hawaii and my back held up enough for me to do some shooting on the Oakland - Sf ferry and Pier 39 for a few hours.

Here's a few shots that I took.
C&C Welcome
Gary

Thanks Rosemary, the last pic is of one of the cranes for unloading ships at Oakland docks. Supposedly they were the inspiration for one of the war machines in the first Star Wars movies. The bird one was a 3d model of the Bay Area. It was sort of a Godzilla parody. Those spiky things in the second shot are what the ferry pulls alongside.

PURE - Public Urban Ritual Experiment will explain it better than I can. It was the main reason I was there, I volunteered to document their event.

Welcome back to the mainland Gary. I hope the back got the rest it needed. I have the back troubles often myself...

Love the shot of the women watching the dancer. The looks on their faces are wonderful. Good timing.

Again welcome back home, although I could live on one of those Islands if the wife would let me.

Wonderful captures Gary. The ladies and dancer is a great shot! I wonder did the bird work out where he was?

I love 3 and 4. Your focus on the specators with the "dancer" in the foreground is awesome. I love their expressions. You can totally read their impressions by their faces (or at least what appears to be their impressions). And the map-reading bird, priceless. Great eye and great work.

I like the gull trying to figure out where he is on the map. And the women watching the dancer is an excellent shot. The expressions are really great.

Also I like the Bird shot and the dancer image. Good series. Thos container cranes are almost surreal as they are so big. Good shot.
