This shot I took at twilight in Canberra; our national capital while visiting our eldest daughter. The blue was absolutely haunting in the photos that I took and really loved it. The building is the National Museum I am pretty sure and the waterway is Lake Burley Griffin which is right in the middle of Canberra

Lovely shot! That building is actually the High Court. Pretty impressive building considering there are only seven High Court Justices!
The National Gallery of Australia is nearby, that's probably the one you are thinking of. The NGA is now off my list of favourites, since they banned photography inside the Gallery.

thanks also Chris and thanks for the correction - there are lots of buildings around there. Only seven for that building - I can imagine the size of their offices
Shame about the national gallery as Kris said. I found that a lot on our travels and while in Broken Hill, I took several pictures of Pro Harts Rolls Royce that he painted in an Australian theme which looked really good. Upon entering the gallery I was told in a no uncertain manner that photography is NOT allowed in the gallery. When we left my wife noticed cameras outside so the receptionist had probably seen me taking the shots of the roller

Nice work. Reminds me of my visit to Canberra... standing outside freezing, lining up a shot of the fountain in the middle of Lake Burley Griffin just before 10pm... tripod set up, everything framed properly, sorted out the exposure - great shot in the making... about to release the shutter, and... clunk. The lights illuminating the fountain went out and the fountain stopped. No-one told me it was turned off at 10pm each night. I had to return to Melbourne the next day.
