Thunder storms cause lots of trouble in my town.

We are in New England and as the say if you don't like the weather wait five minutes. Well the past few days we have seen our share of thunderstorms move through the area. We do not have the big storms you guys out in the western part of the USA have but they have been pretty bad. We had a microburst come through the other day that knocked down so many trees in one section of town you literally had to detour to the other side of town to get two blocks. I live in small town of about 16K people. none of my pictures here mine but this tells the story I live in Easthampton. So with the power out (again) I got to take a drive around town to get some shots. I also sent them to the local papers website and they used most of them (no $ just credits I am ok with this). Heck as I type another one is blowing in UGHH!! hope I get this done before the lights go out ag.......... kidding

All shot with K10 and 16-45 no injuries reported but as a local insurance agent we were very busy today.

Look close under that pile of trees is a house. Luckily they only had window and a small hole in the roof.

Lightning strike hit the tree and it snapped the pole.


Our Saftey complex is around the corner from this shot. This knocked out power for them. The storm clouds clears over Mt. Tom

Pat, that storm eventually made its way to my neck of the woods, but the high winds didn't come along, we just got lots of rain. Crazy weather!

I believe I saw those storms when they were first brewing.. (over North Adams)

We ran into some nasties yesterday going north from Pittsfield after i was done buying some PVC pipe to make my own background stands. I unfortunately didn't have the camera with, but one side of the sky was fair looking and blue sky, the other was just absolutely viscious looking black clouds.
