Stephenie Meyer "Breaking Dawn" Concert Series

This was held at the UCLA Royce Hall Theator on Thursday Night the 7th of August. I brought a large back pack of all my gear not nowing what to expect. I ended up using my fastest lens, an old (pre - A) Vivitar 28-90 Series 1 F2.8-3.5, on my Mono-Pod. I shot RAW+, Full Manual, ISO 400 for the majority. They said no pictures and were shutting down many with Camera Phones and P&S. (lights and flashes gave them away) Mine outfit is all Black, and I turned off the rear screen and wished I turned off the shutter noise if possible! I was careful. Note, this is the 3rd event with here (wive is a super fan of the series and author...) and all the others allowed pics except during the signing. The majority of my pics did not come out, but the last one with the surprisingly good Justin Furstenfeld playing came out pretty good! The Pics have no PP, just jpegs resized out of the camera. (dont know RAW processing yet) SR was on (thank god!)

The nite went:

Someome came out to talk about the event...

Justin Played about 5 songs

Author came out and was interviewed and answered net supplied questions.

Justin came out an played some specials fav songs of the Author, including one not due out until '09

Then wait in killer line for over an hour for Book signing...

First shot of the very black stage to give an idea, no depth of field so peeps are fuzzy.

The interviewer with Steph

Rest are of Justin playing away! I was impressed to say the least.

A challenging shoot for someone rusty and with his first DSLR. C&C welcome of course.

Tough shooting but Ithink you did okay. #3&4 are pretty good. Maybe next time they allow shooting. I would suggest bumping up to ISO800 to get a little faster shutter speed.

I've read all of them and actually enjoyed them. (I'm 49, and my oldest teen son also liked them, he's 19) The Twilight series (Breaking Dawn is book 4) is pretty good, and a movie on the 1st book is due out in December. If you were at Comic-Con for the Panel, you'd swear Elvis or the Beatles where there from all the women screaming. It was no different on this nite!

She also wrote "Host" a Sci-Fi story that I like better then the Twilight series...

Here's one Pic from that Panel....Handheld with either Kit Lens or SMC-A 70-210, I was bouncing between ISO400 & 800. This was just days after I got the camera and some of my first shots.
