Morning mist, Illustration + Orton
Posted by regken, 09-24-2008, 09:08 AM regken is offline

Autumn is in the air here in Maine. Not much color change yet but getting a nice mist on the river in the morning. Working on my style with this one and criticism will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ken

Just about perfect to my eye. If I would change anything, I would tone down the closest bridge support just a tad. It distracts a bit from the mood of the overall picture.

Great shot, with or without the Orton effect. However, it seems like it may be tilted slightly clockwise...

Nice work Reg, I also would tone down the pole on the right, it appears to have some ghosting around it.

That's a neat shot, I think it would look good as a B&W also.

I strongly suspect that I would have loved the original, this "ortonized" one is also great!

Thanks. As JMR said, you have to start out with a good capture in the first place to make this sort of stylizing work. I find the PP to be as much fun as taking the photo. I"m hoping it will also set my stuff apart from most other work. A "different drummer" sort of thing.

Both of them are sooo dreamy and contrasty. Really animated photographs.

I cannot tell the difference between the two.

Love the image and the PP'ing.

Would make a nice vertical shot also.

Great stuff!
