Macro with new setup
Posted by jmc7104, 10-17-2008, 05:06 PM jmc7104 is offline

I purchased a bellows assembly Macro set up and mounted it on an istDL Some of the first day shooting.
First one is a Honey Bee gathering pollin

Second one is a Blue colored fly.

Third one is a Honey Bee in flight, Probably will never be able to do that again and come as close in focus.

This one is definatly going on my wall.

This is an m42 (screw mount) With a cheap Kmount adaptor screwed on front . Mounted on istDL and a dedicated meaning no focus ring 105mm f4-22 aet at f8 and bellows extendet maxium which giver about a 3 to 1 ratio With this rig your focus range is about 6 inches away from object. add a 1.7 convertor and you are almost nose to nose and about 6 to 1. Thanks for comments everyone. My first time using bellows, but think I am hooked already. jim
Note: Shutter speed 1:1000 so the wing beat of a bee is clost to that of a humming bird also.
