From An Overlook

I spent most of Sunday In a place that shows the total beauty of the area I live in. so I wanted to share this spot with all.

These were taken along the Susquehanna River in the southern end of Lancaster County Pennsylvania. The air that day was Filled with Vultures riding the air currents and looking for food. The day was clear and mild. Fall has come to this area and made for one of the nicest days in the past week.

David,

Were you at the Sam ? Park overlooking the Susquahanna looking towards Columbia?

As a former York native it looks familiar. I thought I recognized the old bridge bewteen Wrightsville and Columbia.

Beautiful shots! It sure is pretty up there this time of year.

very nice, David - thanks for sharing! I miss being in PA this time of year - though the mountains up here are slightly larger and make for interesting scenery, sometimes I miss those nice rolling hills.

The colour is stunning.

The 4rd last shot is my favorite where the eagle is bordered by the trees.

Ray It's a little further Down the river than that, the bridge you see is the bridge that crosses the river close to the Buck. (RT 374 bridge) close to Muddy Run. the second shot is looking south down the river and the buildings on the right side of the river are the cooling towers and main reactor for Peachbottom Power plant.
Thank you for your kind comments on the shots It was a beautiful day in a beautiful location.

Thanks James but it's not an eagle. It's just a run of the mill buzzard. The sky's were full of them. I was hoping there would be eagles out on the currents but we had no luck seeing them yesterday.

Dan I wish I had the gas and time to get to Mass this year because there are many places I would like to photograph there. (The Berkshires are very high on my list, beautiful area and very high on my list of places to visit.
