Sigh... what a great lens! The clarity of this lens at all focal lengths continues to impress me - no question. More images sometime soon!

EDIT: this was an afternoon I had the opportunity to take it for a spin, courtesy of Jay (aka sirfishalot) - thanks again Jay for ruining me...

Cheers,
Marc

Superb images! I like the concentric ripples around the duck in particular, as he wades through the water.

Thanks for the crop Marc, even though it's different I think it's rather cool.

The second shot, I'm assuming the bird had just got out of the water, you can see droplets of water on it's underneath.

Third shot, I like that the water is not still and so therefore the reflection is somewhat abstract.
PS I have a laptop and so it is easy to look at pictures upside down, this one looks way cool inverted IMO. Mind you, my wife is always telling me I'm strange.

Last shot has a very painterly look about it.

Thanks for sharing them.

Wow. Great images there and obviously this lens is a stellar performer.

Any chance of pic of your setup with this lens on tripod etc.?

Thank you JMR! Yes, the ripples really add to the image of that duck.

More to come and thank you! I met up with the owner, and he and I swapped "special time" using the lens for the birding photography.

Marc

Hey Marc,

I thought about getting hold of this lens in the past. Had a great price on one two years ago but wondered whether or not the resolution would be capable of holding together on the larger megapixel cameras. My friends at Pentax told me that they didn't think it would resolve well on hirez digital cameras.

Well, I think that these small shots do indicate that resolution is probably not a problem in an image even at full rez.

BTW, I think that image #4 is strikingly beautiful in tone, lighting and composition. Contrast is quite exceptional too.

Go easy on me - I blush readily... Seriously, thank you.

As Stephen (SCGushue) posted later on, I wasn't sure of it's resolving powers with higher resolution sensors too. I knew the FA* lenses I already own were NOT an issue, as proven when I put the K20D on them.

My honor Gary. I like it too, since it's a bit more unique!

That is correct - and the little "cloud" on it's bill...

I would oblige in a heartbeat... if it was mine... I forgot to take a shot of Jay using it...

I am glad you enjoyed the series!
