Last of the roses (FA 50mm f1.4)
Posted by Duh_Vinci, 11-16-2008, 08:41 AM Duh_Vinci is offline

As a commitment to myself, I decided to keep shooting with FA 50mm f1.4... Trying to develop some "love" for this lens. I must admit, I'm warming up to it (while the weather is getting colder)

Last roses from my garden for this season (all wide open)

C&C always welcome!

Regards,
D

It has a soft effect. Is the grey color the original color or was filter used?

Great capture anyway.

Very nice shots!!! I like the #2 and #3 most. The background color is perfect for the red rose and the bokeh is just great.

D, the way you have processed those shots is perfect for the time of year. You could almost call them Beauty and the Beast shots. The beauty of the rose faced with the oncoming beast of winter.

Thank you all very much for the kind words and comments, much appreciated!

Considering the gray, cold rainy weather, it just felt right with these selective coloring, and felt like it conveyed the mood just right.

These were shot in raw, then very simple post in Picasa "Focal B&W" where you desaturate around the focal point...

I'm going to miss the colors, they are fading away faster than I wish.

Regards,
D
