K20D or Samsung P&S? Pix compared.

I recently got a Samsung L210 P&S. I decided to test it against the K20D for fun.

Here are some pairs. Not sure why some are larger as I resized them all to 800 pixels.

Lotuses.

Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe ($497,000). Not sure about the color differences. I might try another round of PP.

OK, if you didn't know...the Pentax is on top, Samsung on the bottom.

How about this one, though?

Nice shots! I like the Lotus and the VW Bug shots the best.

ps: I was thinking if I can't tell the shots between the K20d and Samsung P&S I will rush out to buy the Samsung. Gladly I don't have to

great shots! Great Idea.

I noticed there are shots that my Canon S5IS does really well at. And the same shot with my k20d makes you look to see the difference. Then again there are no shots that the k20d does and shines that the p&s will touch.

Now for the cars! That jeep is out of control! Will have to look it up to see more of it. And the question we all have: What's with the talking Bug? Herbie got a paint job?

Hey Special K:

All nice shots and the Lotus is awesome! I used to own an inexpensive Lotus--the Europa. One day I realized I would not have time to do other things, like shoot pictures, until I ditched the Lotus; it demanded tremendous TLC, so off it went.

The different sizes in your pics may have to do with the aspect ratios of each camera. The K20 sticks with a 3/2. but the P & S may be using a more squared off ratio, like 4/3.

But they are the same number of pixels wide. Should be the same width, though the height would vary with aspect ratio. Probably something simple I am missing...

There are obviously not the same number of pixels wide (sorry). A pixel is a pixel. Question, were they the same width before your uploaded them to this site? If so, I would suspect the forum software. Uploaded pictures are munged before being stored on the server with potential for some changes and/or image degradation. You probably already know this, but you are better off hosting somewhere else and linking to the pictures.

Strange. In the recycle bin, properties of image indicate 800 pixels. Downloaded image, only 700 something.

Will try it again. I tried it again, same results...
