A few warbirds

A few from last year when the weather was a bit nicer......funny but when the sun does come out everybody complains about south facing crowd lines. All taken with K10 and tamron 70-300 some cropping and resized otherwise out of camera jpeg bright mode with +1 sharpening.

that Lancaster has great framing, convert it to B&W, adjust levels, bumb contrast and you have stunning shot there

Just my opinion here.
I think the subjects are interesting but not photographed well.
Go and get us more pictures of planes.

I have to disagree with you Matt. I like the series and think they are well exposed, sharp and some great angles. I really like the pairing in the first shot and the last shot. IMO, well done!

On my PC the first three look fine and bright. My favourite is the last one, though I'd prefer it a little brighter.

But there is something simply majestic about these planes.

! Dustspot on the Lanc ? About 3 o'clock from the front guns!

Chocs away!

There is another one at 12 from the front guns, if we are nitpicking...

Nice photos except that they are rather dark...EV+ the next time you shoot the subject but don't go clipping the highlights

Thanks Mike, still a way to go before i could ever get near the standard of your shots! The first 3 were shot at +1/2 EV spot metering which was as far as i could push it without blowing the highlights almost shooting into the sun.The spit and buchon was a reaction shot as i had been trying to get a shot looking down the crowdline.Heard the rather distintive sound of a pair of merlins behind me and just had time to swing round and frame 3 shots - behind wobble in front wobble this one.

Very nice Vespa.

We have a Lancaster at the Canadian War Plane Heritage Museum in Hamilton Ontario. It is my understanding there are only two left flying in the world. Your Lancaster must be the only other operational one. A rare bird indeed.

Cheers
