Iceemn360's K10d Photo Thread
Posted by iceemn360, 01-09-2009, 01:57 AM iceemn360 is offline

Hi everyone,

I live in California and I purchased my Pentax k10d a year ago as a christmas present. It came with the 18-55 kitlens and a Quantaray 70-300 telephoto macro. Before this camera I was just the average point shoot user with practically no knowledge even when I first set hands on this wonderful DSLR. I've gained plenty of pointers from forums, online articles, friends, and simply going out there and snapping shots whenever I could. I dont think I could have asked for a better camera to suit my water/outdoor needs. i think the Pentax systems is working wonderfully for me and hope to upgrade to the K20d with 16-50 DA* and 50-135 DA* lenses in the future. For now I would like to share an extensive series of my favorite photos from 2008.

its incredible how many photos ive taken in a year!

Beware -Photos Intense! proceed at your own downloading caution!

What camera?
most used lens?
I only have the Pentax K10d at the moment and for most wildlife close ups/portraits I used the Quantaray 70-300 telephoto macro. not bad for a 100 dollar lens i guess. most scenic and or car photos utilized the DA 18-55

Wow, you have been stunningly productive! These are inspiring...

In the end, I had to ask myself how someone can have so many wonderful shots, and I end up with these as my two best photos of the year....

I have got to leave my house once in a while...

So now I sit here with mad props for the iceemn360
and hate-in' on the gusdog...

Keep them coming

wow thanks! I really enjoy the dof of the stapler and the humor in the first photo.

awww!

well im going to spend some dough on DA* lenses so dont you worry! lol

I think the quantaray was very good for the money (looks like a tamron equivalent) with just a different name. Perhaps it was just a very good copy

WOW! Those are some awesome pics, especially the aquarium ones. I find it amazing that these came from such modest lenses. I can only imagine what you could do with the 16-50 and the 50-135.

Ooops. That was a big typo I had there. It is the kit lens. The 50-135 is in fact a DA*.

I thought I was getting quality shots with it until I saw your photo's. It is very obvious to me now that the lens is just one part of great looking shots. I am still amazed at the work you did with basically kit lenses.

I have some work to do!

What an awesome first set. I guess you won't be posting for another year now.
It seems like everyone who has posted has had a good time looking at all of those pictures.
PS you owe me for a new touchpad on my laptop, this thread wore it out.
