Quite good. I take it was overcast and that is why there is no catch light in the eyes. I really the background also.

Is it eating a spider? I didn't know they ate insects and such. Lesson learned every day.

Love the blue overtone in this, the creamy water background is lovely. Shame about the catch light (PP to the rescue? )

I agree very nice background and the colors are good. Great timing on the snack as well.

Thanks for the comments.The photo was taken in middle of the day with high sun just as the Heron stepped into the shadows for a second.The food of the day was a yabbie which is a small crustacean not unlike a shrimp,but they are up for anything eatable.I took a few images this one has catch lights but doesn't appeal to me as much.I haven't tryied pp as I'm trying to get the best image without doctoring the image as yet.Cheers and thanks jaab
