Hi!

Here's the newest arrival. Thanks Sam! You're right, though, it's heavy!

Opening the box. Couldn't even wait to get inside!

What a beauty!!

Not a mark on it anywhere. The white fuzzies are from the packaging.

And then had to leave for skating lessons...

First pictures with the new lens were of course at the rink:

Definitely not something to handhold at 200mm. Gonna have to get a monopod. Did I mention that it was heavy?

But at 80mm not bad handheld:

Wow Tracy. Sweet lens. Congratulations on your new addition. I think I may have to take a little trip down your way to, er, "see" it in person!

Congratulations Tracy! I often use my monopod when shooting with my DS and DA50-200 (Slow glass with no SR). I wouldn't think of trying to hand hold your new beast. I'm looking forward to seeing what it can do inside the rink.

Tracy, congradulation on the new lens and it looks mint to me from the images itself.

Glad that you are still continuing the same tradition of LBA thread like this one.

A good timing as this zoom price has been on the decline and you got the lens in the right time!

Now that is beautiful. Hopefully your photos with it will turn out just the same. From the looks of your first few shots with it, I'm sure you won't have any troubles with it....now if only I can find that pile of cash I've been looking for to pick one up for myself...

I know just from the maximum aperture that your lens is large and heavy, especially on a zoom. I am not much for discussing lenses, but fast zooms are most sutable for ice rinks and and action. And you are certainly off to fine start. I really like your window shot. I confees and embarassed to admit that I do not know what LBA means.
