Memories of Riviera Maya
Posted by RBellavance, 03-04-2009, 08:02 PM RBellavance is offline

I recently had to privilege of spending a few days in Riviera Maya with my family. Of course I brought my camera along

It was my first time using a polarizer, and I loved the experience. It is really nice to be able to make reflections disappear from the water's surface, to increase the sky's contrast, and to use a large aperture in broad daylight (the polarizer absorbs 2 EV stops). Most of the shots taken with the FA35 and FA77 were done with the polarizer. I unfortunately don't have one for the Sigma 17-70 (yet!).

My only regret is not having brought my flash. Many portraits on the beach would have benefited from a little fill-flash. But this was not a "photo trip", and I was traveling light (K10D, FA35, FA77, and Sigma 17-70 only).

Some of my favorites follow. The complete series is available at http://charlot.enter-net.com/photos/...iviera%20Maya/ Be advised that there are several "family snapshots" in the lot.

Constructive criticism is more than welcome !

All nice shots. Except the last one. 7 and 10 would make a nice postcard.

You have a beautiful family. How does someone who looks like you get such a young, pretty wife? I don't get it!

Great pictures. Reminds me of when I was there several years ago at the Barcelo Maya.

Great series of photos. I like #3 the best.
I have a question with that one. It looks like you have your lens underwater on that shot? Was it?
