Mt. Snow Freeski Open

Newschoolers Ski magazine use 3 of my shots from last weekends superpipe competition in their news coverage. I was there shooting pictures of my daughter and her friends, normal Dad stuff and getting in some skiing too and the Rep asked me if I could send in some halfpipe shots because he didn't have any. They used 3 of them. This is a first for me.Mount Snow Freeski Open - News - Skiing's Online Community - Newschoolers.com

Cool! I'm assuming your 3 are the ones with the watermark?

Yes, sorry I should have mentioned that.
They are the last 3. The other shots are saturdays slopestyle. My daughter wasn't competing in that event so I wasn't there. She also finished on the podium in third place.

Thanks for the comments. They are fun events indeed. I don't get to see her compete very often because most of these events are out west. This weekend she is in Squaw Valley in California.

I used a Sigma 70-300, the non APO cheap one. As long as you don't shoot with it wide open it does ok. I shot most of the shots at f 11. A lot of my shots had trees in the background and a little bokeh would have been nice but I have learned from experience that I will get soft looking pics at f 6.3. Also the skiers were coming towards me in the pipe so I wanted as much depth of field as I could get to keep the skier in focus.
