Nice series looks like your dog enjoyed the time out as well.

I like your compositions, but I feel they could do with some (more) PP. They lack contrast and some are too light for my tastes.

Thanks for the comment! And as a Canadian, I am sure you are enjoying the spring season as well!

Later!

Thanks for the constructive comment Kevin,

Please explain me something here: are pictures #2 & #3 with enough contrast and PP? I ask this because those were the only two that I really did some PP work.

I want to know if these two pictures (#2 & #3) are better that the others in your perspective.

Thanks,

BB

(assuming you're taking the smiley as #1) 2 and 3 both suffer from a lack of strong colours. It's mostly dull shades of brown that fill the picture. Perhaps try converting them to black and white.
I toyed around a bit with some of the other pictures and they greatly improve with some more contrast, especially some more darkness.

Hi Kevin, thanks again for the input.

Regarding #2 &#3, I was first asking about your original comment, because the PP applied to them had the intent to increase contrast, so I wanted to know if these two were also included in the original comment.

It seems like the original comment was directed mostly at the other pictures, correct?

Now regarding this recent comment about colors, you are absolutely right, the scene is very color-less and probably a B&W conversion would improve the final results. It does look more like a autumn picture than spring time!

I did think 2 and 3 suffered from a lack of contrast, but when I downloaded them and increased the contrast myself they didn't improve much, if at all. Which made me realise it was the colours.

The last 4 benefit alot with making them darker. The 2 leaf close-ups probably too would do better in black and white, but I have not tinkered with these so I'm just speculating.

Also, #2 seems to be overlit. Parts are whited-out entirely.

that really puzzles me, because I am trying to grasp what each quality represents (contrast, brightness, resolution, etc), and I thought i knew what contrast was and that #2 &#3 had it.

maybe I should post #2 &#3 without any PP to confirm whether or not I am understanding what contrast it...

No you were right, the mistake was on my part, hence 'did think' and not 'think'

They do seem a bit overexposed and under-contrasty to me. Not sure what to do about it, though, since the available color isn't much...
