Pre-wedded Bliss
Posted by Niki, 06-03-2009, 08:17 AM Niki is offline

As nervous as I am to do this, I will anyway.
Here is the link to the photobucket acct. I uploaded photos into of a wedding I attended this past weekend.
As you may be able to tell, I was asked by the groom (a family friend) to follow him and his groomsmen around before the wedding to take some shots as the primary photog was with the bride.
I think I was the only girl there at the formal wedding in pants...a good thing since I was on the ground (literally) for a few shots.
I got one shot of the ceremony, a bad one at that...please be gentle

any critique is welcomed and there is a 2nd album available on the left hand side called 'color' for some colored shots.
I was playing with some PP techniques in some of these pics, so please don't laugh so hard you spew your drink on your monitor while viewing.
I used my 50 mm 1/4f lens throughout in AV mode to adjust...something Im not too good at yet.
I'll stop rambling now.

I like the shots Niki.

One thing I would like to say is post the pics directly here to get more reviews on your work

I think you did a great job, Niki. No reason at all to be nervous about posting these photos. I prefer the color versions of the shots overall, but the only critique I would offer is next time be a little more generous with stopping the lens down to get more DOF. That shot of the groom and groomsmen is a good one, it would have been great with a little more DOF to bring the left most groomsman more into focus.

thank you both!
sureshgvv, I'll load up a few...just not sure which ones to pick
please note that these particular pics are down sized quite a bit for those family members of the bride and groom who have dial up and full sized pics would've taken forever to load.

Jim, I totally see what you are talking about. I had taken several shots quickly and the groomsmen dispersed before I had realized the aperture was too large....dumb, dumb.

Excellent work Niki!!

I haven't browsed the Photobucket images, but I think if this is any indication, I will enjoy them.

Regards,
Marc

Hi Niki,
Love the first one, a real 'boyz in da hood' style and aperture works well there.
All Goods shots, bet they'll be happy.
Cheers Neil

Well done Niki.
Wedding photography requires skill in many facets.
I think you've excelled in them all.
Thanks for sharing.
