Some photos from the Zoo w/ K-7 + FA*80-200
Posted by frank, 06-10-2009, 08:20 PM frank is offline

Got chance to play a K-7 camera w/ v0.3 firmware for several days, shared my experiences here:
Experiences with the new K-7 Camera (lots of imgs)

Brought the kids to the zoo over the weekend, here are some photos from a short play there. All photos had very minor level adjustment before resize, all taken in JPG.

Here are a couple of bigger photos from the trip, the smaller ones don't look really nice on these two:

Thank you for sharing the images Frank. The focus is spot on in all the shots to these eyes. Are all the shots taken with AF?
Thanks, chris

Thank you for posting this, Frank!
Beautiful photos and amazing color as always from the FA*80-200/2.8
I can't wait to have my K-7 one day and try it on with my FA*80-200 too

So Frank, how is the focus accuracy and speed when you use this lens with K-7.
Mine back focused a little bit with my K20D so I have to do 7 micro adjustment with it.
Does the AF lock speed also improved in low light using this lens & K-7?
I'm curious because FA*80-200 doesn't have SDM but I really hope the AF locks faster & no hunting with K-7.
Also how the AF-C performs in K-7? Can it lock accurately on people walking/running toward us?

Sorry for so many questions.
Thanks, Frank.

Great shots Frank, thanks for posting them.

One question though, what is it with taking the K-7 to the zoo!? That's the first thing I did!

Gorgeous shots, and mostly straight out of JPG too. Color me impressed (pun intended).

Thanks for the comments. I didn't check the focusing of my lenses in the new camera 'cause I was in a bit rush, and probably I was too excited to even think about it. But seems the camera works pretty well w/ all the lenses I mounted (FA77, 31, DA21, DA1855WR, DA*60250, FA*80200). I don't see any focusing issue, at least I'm quite happy w/ the results. I even did some focusing test w/ the FA77 under natural light and tungsten light, all spot on (what a relieve if you ask me ).

FA*80200 works pretty well on the new camera, AF is pretty okay. It's a slow AF lens on K10D or K20D, but quite a bit faster on K7.

Sorry I never checked AF.C 'cause I never used this one on any of my cameras. But I'll give it a try over the weekend when I get chance to shoot some actions (wakeboarding) w/ the new camera
