Hi everyone,

A few days ago I ran into a local Pentaxian and he recommended I check out a photo shop in Dearborn that sold Pentax. He said they were down sizing and were clearing out their inventory. Well, I decided to make a run over and check out what they had. I was in the market for the DA 16-50 2.8 lens but they didn't have any.

Well the salesman suggested I try a prime lens instead. There was a 14 mm 2.8 lens but it was $600 with the discount. I did some more looking around and found a 28 mm 3.2 limited edition lens for $400.00. I decided to give it a try.

Well, that afternoon I was meeting up with a friend of mine , Sara, who wanted me to do a photoshoot of her at her mom's house. I decied to try out the new lens to see what the results would be.

Here is 1 picture that came out of the shoot. I think it turned out great...but I'm not a professional.

Stunning and very classy, Garret.
You've balanced the sidelight and ambient light beautifully.
The sky is perfect, and complements the portrait nicely.
The silhouetted effect on the tree is well suited as well.
Your PP work boosting contrast and saturation worked remarkably well.
Sara's pose, clothing and added prop are all wonderfully put together.
This is a very fine portrait that would be sure to sell.
Well done, mate.
Just brilliant.

Sara was extremely happy with these. I also got some great complements from other photographers. I also did some shots that were in black and white and was told they looked like something out of gone with the wind.

I hope I can do more like them.

If this one is anything to go by, I'm sure you'll be racking in keepers and pleasing lots of people with your results.

A picture worthy of a front page magazine cover. Well executed, very elegant and a classy appeal. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,
