My new neighbor likes to hang around outside my window.

GX-10; Pentax-A 35-70mm f/4, at 70mm f/8; 1/60s, ISO 280.

I wanted to play with contrast on this one: I like the spider's brown on the green background, the light tangle of the web against the shadows, the fine detail of the web against the out of focus background. I also was going for a bit of the abstract with the background. I desaturated the greens a bit...perhaps a bit too much.

Thoughts/criticism welcome.

Jon, I like the concept, but the photo is a little too small to give some well founded criticism. I think the spider is not totally in focus, but my eyes are not good enough to say it for sure for photos of this size....

No, the spider isn't completely in focus, but this ended up being the best compromise with what I had to work with. Not that this prevents criticism on the point, mind you.

You can click the image for a full-sized version. I wasn't sure how large of an image is acceptable to post in a thread. :-)

Hi Jon,

The full size is great! I like the translucence of the spider, although it isn't fully in focus. The large one would be to big to be convenient indeed!
