Battleship Texas (lot of pics)
Posted by dws1117, 07-30-2009, 08:21 PM dws1117 is offline

Haven't been on the forum much in quite a while. Life has gotten in the way of play. Was able to get the camera and my son out for a good time a couple of days ago. Hope to have time to participate in forum activities again soon. Anyway took my son (age 7) to the San Jacinto Battle grounds and the Battleship Texas just outside of Houston. Had a nice time. I remember going there as a kid. Last time was probably when I was about his age.

Thanks Gary. I decided it wasn't right to shoot an old ship like this in color. Took a few in color and they just didn't "feel" right. No software conversions. Used the B7W setting on the camera. Almost wished I'd taken the PZ-1p and a roll of b&w film. Next time for sure.

It had been a few years for me also. I may have been my son's age or a little older last time I was there and now I'm knocking on to door of 40.

A great group of images and conversions, Wayne. I photographed the Texas a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it (except for the HEAT).

Thanks, Jer. Did you post any of the images from your shoot? Would love to see them.

Here's a link, buddy. BTW, we're planning to spend some time aboard our boat next week - if I can, I'll check out Fry's for any Pentax stuff.
