Droplets on spiderwebs

Gotta love the FA 50 macro... Sometimes it's the only way to get a shot, no "close focusing" will get it. And the details... wow.

I prefer the second one, but I think I would crop out the top to just above the pointed leaf top. In my mind's eye the top two drops then seem to be in motion above the curved grass blade.

the first shot is really interesting... the droplets of water almost look like they are bejeweled...
almost eye like... that blade of grass is a small distraction.....

I still wonder if I should crop out that blade of grass on the first one. In one way it breaks the pattern, in another it brings some perspective. I prefered to keep it for now.

I tried cropping more and I felt the scene felt too cramped. The free space helps with the impression of curve and movement. At least in my humble option.

Thanks for commenting.

excellent shots. And I like more the first one. More simple composition and more striking imo. Crop the top leaf.
That's why I have to buy the DA 100 Macro

Cool captures.
I reckon they're OK though stopping down a little more would bring more into focus.
I too like the dynamic curve the blade of grass creates in #2

You mean the FA 100 macro, right? Or the DFA? I don't know about any DA 100 macro

The 50 is a great lens, because it can confortably be used for portraits and such. Plus it's small. The closest focus distance is not very different between the FAs 50 and 100 (19 vs 28 cm if I'm right) and since the 100 is longer, the actual distance from the lens to the subject is pretty similar.

I got mine from a honest seller who wasn't looking for a huge profit, and at 150$ shipped for a mint lens, I could not pass.

Here, I cropped it. You guys are right, it does seem better:

almost expected to see the spider in the reflections of the water drops
It wasn't around. Probably hiding in the grass because of the rain.

stopping down a little more would bring more into focus.
I tried it but more of tha background also comes into focus, and it gets distracting:

I prefer the creamy bokeh of a wider aperture

The second shot (Curve) is at f5, the one just above f13. The very first is at f5,6.

Thanks for the comments, I appreciate it!
