GF portrait 50mm 1.7
Posted by bwield, 08-04-2009, 04:53 PM bwield is offline

My F 50mm 1.7 looks like cr*p.
It has no filter ring, the whole F line is tacky looking (in my opinion) and there is oil or residue all over the edges of the front element....
BUT
I love the lens at any F stop...
I always stayed away from wide open with the 1.4, but I love using it in the 50mm 1.7.

Here are two shots.. the first at 1.8... but I am going to classify it as wide open :P

This one is a new favorite of mine.
at 1.7

Comments and criticisms appreciated!

Beautiful on both counts.
Brilliant colours and sharpness in the flower, and great detail in your GF portrait.
Yes, the PP work makes the portrait a real work of art.
Well done.

Nice images. The GF, as you call her, is very unusal crop, which nevertheless seems to work.
There is one black speck in her left eye (right on photo) you might want to take out.

I have to give a lot (all?) the credit to Keitha for the post processing.
Her work and blog as really helped me with Lightroom.
She also puts up her presets for people to use!
