They fly!
Posted by ve2vfd, 08-17-2009, 06:17 PM ve2vfd is offline

A few from last week at my country house

First a hummingbird at our feeder. Extremely aggressive at chasing away other hummingbirds who want to share it.

Next, a butterfly enjoying the nectar of my mothers flowers

This last one I took last month and doesn't fly... but maybe he thinks he can (or doesn't undrestand the meaning of BIRD feeder!)

Nice ones Pat.
You seem to have a serene home in the country - lots of wildlife coming to visit.
Must be relaxing...

Very glad to see its what it is . Great shots too btw.
The squirrel looks a little guilty at being seen.

Beautiful shots.

The first one is amazingly clean for 1600iso - correct expose helps a lot I guess...

Ash ... Thanks, yes it's a very nice place in the country... a bit busy with cottagers on weekends, but dead quiet on weekdays.

Mallee Boy ... Hee hee, camp was 3 weeks ago and you have no idea how badly I would have liked to teach a few of my kids to fly... The squirrel probably had that look because I was mere feet away from it, I had my 17-50mm on so I had to get real close to snap that one.

Devisor ... Thanks, I spend HOURS around that feeder and snapped hundreds of shots (individual shots, I don't like to "machine gun" photos). That one was one of the better ones.

Tcdk ... Thanks! I was surprised that I got anything usable at iso1600! I did noise ninja the image a bit to remove some noise from the background.
