Don’t know why I didn’t do this earlier. I moved the bird feeder closer to the house. Now when I open the door to shoot the birds fly to the tree which is the perfect shooting distance from the house so I get that “natural” look a lot more easily. Duhhh! Should have done this ages ago.

Interesting shots and it certainly is a simple solution. Just out of curiosity however, what iso were you shooting at? There seems to be a considerable amount of noise in every image. It's not necessarily horrible, but i think it would make these shots a lot nice if there was less noise overall.

ISO 100 Owen. I did do a lot more PP than normal with these and that probably accounts for some of the noise. These shots were also taken with the 400mm on a monopods at a shutter speed of 100 or so.

Wow!
great shots!

our garden can have up wards of 20 sparrows and 10 starlings when mum fills the feeders up!
just feeders to far away!
so my 300 dont quite cut it to get as close as you have!
well done!
