shooting pool with the lads

I decided to go for an extreme effect here, a kind of dayglo interior neon seventies vibe. I deliberately added noise and texture. All shots but one are with the SMC 50/1.2. Though I screwed with the colours I wanted to keep some things realistic, e.g. the colours of the balls.

Maybe I can get Tarantino to direct this film.

Great feel to the pictures, kinda reminded me of the movie "Color of Money" a little bit.

Very colourful and rich.
Yellow tinge is a little overboard for me, but I get the 'feel' you're creating here.
Nicely done.

You might be right about the yellow on a couple. Thanks for making that observation!

Certainly not my usual style, but thought I'd go the opposite of black and white for a change.

Nice way to use "noise" to advantage rather than always assuming it's the enemy. As already mentioned, I'd advise selectively tone down the yellow in #3 and #5 somewhat. Neat series and concept.

I like these, Robin - particularly the third one. I have no idea how to do this sort of thing, but what you did here words for me.

Very nice series, Robin, and certainly different from what we usually see.

I really like #3 (that's the one not from the 50, right?) and #5. The latter is the one that shows the most "emotion" or "mood" to me.

I feel the "noise effect" is a bit overdone in #1, especially in the shirt of the guy in the background, right in the middle of the image.

Yeah, #3 is from the DA12-24. Good catch!

I think you are correct in your critique and I should tune the textured noise effect by dodging and burning that particular layer. But that's too much work. :-)
