#1 Extraordinary Dust Storm
09-22-2009, 04:10 PM
Most unusual conditions this morning, brought about the worst dust storm I have witnessed in my 60+ years. Breathing is a bit of a problem with the amount of dust in the air.
These pictures are as taken, only PP is resizing.

No lens change and very short time out there with the K20d
Yes it is almost frightening. You can nearly grow potatoes on the cars parked outside the dust is settling so thickly

Wow Bruce that looks nasty
I would image it gets inside as well. Hope all is well and it does not last long.

Yes Dave, rather nasty, particularly for asthma and sinus sufferers. I can smell it in the house, even though everything is kept shut up tight.
We may have to wait for a change in the wind, maybe later this evening.
Oh well. we manage

We had this in Canberra yesterday very eerie lighting. Wait until you get a shower of rain then everything will be covered in red mud.

Looks bad guys! Nice photos though... Bruce, I like the first one you posted with the towers barely visable through the dust.
