I am soooo embarrassed
Posted by slowpez, 10-11-2009, 06:20 PM slowpez is offline

As it turns out, we were in Capitol Reef at the same time as Marc's group. I really wish I had known that. We have been gone on a six month journey to the Pacific Northwest and taking in some of our national parks along the way. This is one of my favorites from Capitol Reef. I hope you will allow me to post some others when they are ready. The only PP was removing the sensor dust. Lost my computer and had to get a new one and my old Photoshop won't run on Vista.

Please, C&C is encouraged and will be welcomed with open arms.

Now what's the embarrasment? It's a fine landscape - probably didn't need to go to f/18, but doesn't seem to make much of a difference at this image size.

Aside from a bland sort of subject matter, there's not much to critique here. It's well exposed and captured.

Dern it would have been cool to hook up - which workshop ? We (8 of us ) were there from Thursday 17th - Sunday 20th September. Marc had another one the following weekend I believe.

It was an amazing place and an amazing expereince. Now onto your shot which as Ash points out is very nice. Looks like you were blessed with some clouds as well (which were fleeting most days we were there). Excellent.

We were there the 17th through the 19th. Wish I had known as I too would have loved to have met you all. Actually, I would have loved to have signed up for the workshop too.

I think I would have liked to see more of the sky, and less of the ground. The interesting parts seem to be dead in the center, and it somehow seems unbalanced to me.

Just my two cents.

Thanks for the C&C guys. I can see that improvement is called for. After looking over my photos from there, I for the life of me, can't figure out why I picked that one to post.
bdery, your comments are right on. Thanks for the input. I will upgrade your 2 cents to a nickle!
John, you are so right about Utah. It is incredible. Sometimes I think the whole state should be a national park.
How I wish I could put some faces to the people on this forum. Maybe next time. We are still in the process of heading home and WiFi is sparse so will wait until the next good connection to post another shot or two.
Again, thanks everyone. Susan
