Travel AIBF - Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta

We weren't planning on going to Albuquerque, but when our camping plan fell through (Chaco canyon was full) and we were only 150 miles away, we thought, "Let's go see the balloons!"

These are from Mass Ascension on Sunday, October 4, 2009.

These are all with a K100D and DA 18-250mm unless noted.

The lighting was tricky - the sky was bright, but clouds prevented sunlight from illuminating the launch field for the longest time.

Nice shots that bring back memories. We lived in Albuquerque for 4 years and went to the Balloon Fiesta every year. My wife and I are planning to go out next year if things work out.

I'm with Mike, that brings back some fond memories. We were there last year, what a sight to behold. We will make it back again someday.
