Landscapism, (and a bug & turtle)

Kit lens madness! Shots done with 18-55 & 50-200, at the Black River in Chester, NJ. All no crop/slight crop, C&C always appreciated.

New Jersey is having a ladybug invasion this year - I've seen at least 30 over the past couple of days. Taken with 50-200/Raynox DCR-150:

This little (6") snapper was walking toward me. Cute little fella!

Nice!!! Gotta say the lenses in question didn't hurt the image whatsoever... They're all very good, but the reflections in the pour-overs are a couple of the most awesome water images I've seen! I prefer the composition of the first of those two, but the colors and the clarity of both of them are fantastic.

flip,

Nice series of images. I found the b&w particularly facinating as had a unique depth in your bw rendition. The second waterfall image was also a very nice graphic image in that it was balanced much nicer than the first.

Lots of laybugs mean fewer aphids... and that's a good thing

excellent series..... the falls were captured beautifully, and the close ups were superb...
you've taken the kit lenses to their zenith...

Thank you for the kind words. I'm quite pleased with the "pour-over shots". I had to lean out over the ledge, which made a 1/10s shutter rather difficult.

Thank you. I researched about the benefits of ladybugs, but my g/f refuses to appreciate them.

Very nice.

After seeing these I may have to go out and get a kit lens.

I agree!!
Makes me think I should get my kit lens back out... doubt I could rival your shots however.

Beautiful location, and the water is amazing.

I bet you would do at least as well!

I wish I could have spent more time at that location - I was on my way to work, and both days that I stopped I could only spend about 30 min.

Kit lens extravaganza - well done with that setup.
#2 is just gorgeous - the light brought out the subject nicely - add some more contrast and it's a real winner.
#5 and 6 are spectacular captures with #6 being the most stunning - you've snapped the beauty of the flowing water so well here.
Well done also with the Raynox shots - they're all very good.
Thanks for sharing.

Doesn't it show how well these kit lenses are made and perform. The first waterfall pic would have to my favourite.I like the crispness and the rippling colours of the reflections.
