Architecture Taos Pueblo New Mexico

Just one for now from our extended trip to the Pacific Northwest and places in between. Converted this to B&W but not sure it works. What do you think?

I don't think this picture is particulary suited for a B/W-conversion. Have you fooled around with it in colour? I guess then you could get much more satisfying results.

My theory on black/white or any monochrome is that they usually look better when the original colour picture has so much colours it becomes annoying. However your image is beige with blue, in thus already quiet enough.
Mostly great colour pictures have just one or a few colours, I find.

OTOH, I don't think the B&W conversion is a bad one at all, Susan.

The colour version does add an element of life to the image and the two colours are well complemented. The image can be improved with some PP work, particularly with exposure/brightness settings.

I prefer the color version - the 2 dominant colors complement each other extremely well. Just adjust the exposure...

Hi Susan, I just went thru some of your shots from your trip. We made a similar trip a couple of years ago and then again with the work shop. Here is one of yours Picasa Web Albums - Ray & Susan - Capitol Reef NP

So many similar shots in our photosites it's amazining. I'm sure there are many others here with similar shots also, I can think of a few others.

I think we could set up a new game, Where have you been?

I like B&W in general and that one is really good, but the color one, having only two, very rich colors is more dramatic IMHO.

The BW is my choice more art than the color one which seems documentary.

Thanks for all the comments everyone. Think I'll hang onto both shots for a while and play with them in photoshop when I get home.
