Tnkered around out side today for a few minutes with my son. He is 9 and a few minutes was about all I could get out of him. I was playing with the K10 - FA 50mm 1.4 and the 540 off camera arms length to my left.

Beautifully balanced with ambient light.
This to me exemplifies the virtue of off-camera fill flash.
The recrop of #2 worked out the best IMO, aesthetically and photographically.
Excellent work, and a memory to keep in the family album for good.

Successful use of flash to control contrast.

However, the second photo is very awkward. It has Chris Hansen written all over it... keep a look out.
